Seventeen children… seventeen children… seventeen children… seventeen children…… Seventeen children!!??
Couple welcomes 17th child – Kids & Parenting – MSNBC.com
When I asked my mom, many years ago, why I don’t have brothers or sisters, she simply said that I was more than enough for her to handle… My mom has always been, in my eyes, the smartest woman in the world.
I think fellow blogger Britgirl said it best in her posted take on this story. Succinctly put:
“… listen up all you childfree folks: if you’re feeling even the slightest bit of guilt about not jumping into the gene pool, fret no more – chance are this woman has had your child AND mine – already.”
Plus, some of the commenters on her blog said everything I would have said by now about this… Think of all the siblings that have to do all the extra work around the household. What would happen if either the mom or dad, or both, died? Would the girls in the family grow up thinking that’s all there is to life…. pumping out kid after kid?!
I think I said all I can say about this. Cheers! (holds up a baby bottle filled with Guinness)

Thanks for the mention Chris… I still can’t think of this woman without a shudder. I actually feel sorry for the children…
No offense, but I thihk people should be allowed to make their own choices in peace. And I do agree with you that your mom is one of the smartest women there is.
