Well, it’s been two weeks since we brought the moving truck to this place and unloaded 95% of our shtuff into the new home. Let’s see where things are today…
All last week, we concentrated on getting the last 5% of our stuff out of the apartment and that was a killer. It’s just as they said… you never know how much you have until you have to pack it and move. Indeed, we even had packages of wedding gifts that had been sitting in my in-law’s garage for 5 years! Getting all the oddball stuff that we had difficulty packing was a pain. We finally got everything done Tuesday, cleaned the apartment on Wednesday and turned in the keys Thursday. You could just imagine the great release and relief I felt with that chapter finally (for the most part) over!
Friday, I started unpacking some of the boxes that you can see in the “Our Home Part 2″ video. I did this while relaxing on my first Friday off after the move. I also had to deal with fixing the latch on the front door, worried that the builders had installed a substandard part. WD-40 is a lifesaver with door problems! Also, close to the afternoon hours, our cable and internet went out upstairs. I called and called on the issue, went through the process of diagnosing the problem on the phone with tech support, and concluded I’d have better luck spitting in the wind. Anyways, I did a workaround yesterday just to make ends meet and the problem was resolved by a field tech (and my assistance!) today. Well, getting back to yesterday, I managed to make the dining room and kitchen more live-able, but not before setting up the living room TV and stereo system so that I’d have some music to drive my day. All in all, I had a good time unpacking. I even unpacked some of the long-forgotten wedding gifts, since there’s more room in the house than what we’re used to. Some of the gifts are going to be put to good use in this house, I assure you all!!
Through all the trouble we had with just getting the cable and internet set up, yesterday’s conundrum notwithstanding, we still don’t have a phone land-line yet. However, it’s only a minor inconvenience; we’ve been living on our cell phones so much that, if the land-line wasn’t part of the package deal with our Cable/ISP, I’d say “no thanks” to the home phone! Hopefully, I can find a way around this, or at least assure myself of the minimum cost for all services. Hmmmm…
Well, that’s all I have. That, and I’m hopelessly addicted to Stickam! Check out my webcam page for the specifics on it. If any of you have webcams and want to find a good webcam community, check it out immediately.
With that note, I’ll write later on the condition of our new home and other things. Cheers!!

Chris and Chris… Happy settling in. May you never have to unpack for er… a few good years
.
Just think – you’ve got even more room now to collect lots more STUFF! cheers!
