“This is going to be interesting…” I tell myself, as I type away on the phone. “Blogging from inside a nightclub!” To make a long story short, for years Christine and I have gone to the Exit, thinking that it was the best goth nightclub. Well… tonight we were shown just how ignorant we were. We’ve been at Neo for a couple of hours now and, so far, it’s kicking the tar out of the Exit, I’m sorry to say. I took some pics to post with this entry at a later time. They turned out pretty good, if I may be so bold. Stay tuned!

I’m a little sad. We leave on Saturday evening, which means that over half of our vacation is over with. So far, we got to visit my aunt twice, took lots of pictures and hung out with quite a few friends. I haven’t seen some of these friends for over six years! However, there’s still some people left to see and it’s going to be hard to squeeze all these plans in and not leave anyone out. Hmmmmm… We’ll do what we can and that’s all we can do. Our friends have lives just like everyone else, so we have to work with them as much as possible. Guess I’m starting to feel the crunch!

Before I talk about anything else here, lemme just say that last night was a blast! The majority of the friends that we wanted to see all met up with us at the hotel yesterday. We all went to dinner at Gino’s East (only the best deep dish pizza in the world!) Afterwards, most of the group went back to the hotel and watched “Cars”. We all had to agree, it was a great time for all! I even got a great group photo of everyone. (I’ll post it here later)
Right now as I’m writing this, we’re having breakfast at Colonial restaurant. We’re going to Chicago today to see more sights and take pictures… And also hang out with my aunt a bit more. Stay tuned!

Well, vacation in Chicago is treating us very well so far. Yes I’m spending money like there’s no tomorrow, but we’re having a lot of fun! In my last post, Michelle gave us wishes for a great vacation and I need to thank her right here. I’m sorry that we couldn’t see her and Rob and the cousins, too… but you can’t have everything. We’re just happy to see what family we can (like Marie!) and our friends are certainly making us feel at home again.
I feel like an ass… I found out that the email-on-phone-to-blog-entry idea worked perfectly, evidenced by the last post, then Sunday I didn’t think to mention that it was Christine’s birthday! Of course we celebrated that evening with her and Marie by going out to Leona’s Italian restaurant. I got to embarrass my honey by having the staff do a birthday shout-out, complete with tiramisu dessert! At least I can mention it here, as long as we found an internet cafe here in Geneva, IL. to curb our ‘net cravings.
Just a couple more things and I’m outta here… Look back at my music review post, and you’ll see that I mentioned a few albums that I still wanted to get. Well, I picked up Sonata Arctica’s “Unia” CD yesterday and I got the chance to listen to it in full. It is simply an awesome album!! I’ll write more about it some other day and entry. Also, we took lots and lots of pictures so far in Chicago and the suburbs where we’re visiting everyone, so I’ll be sure to post as many as I can when we get back to our home in AZ. (and as soon as I can fix my Photo Gallery!!)
Cheers, everyone!
No CommentsWell, we’re back in Chi-town, fresh off the plane, and it’s past 1:30 am. Never mind the late arrival, we are in queue hell as we try to rent a decent car from Avis. I’m hoping for something sporty for all our trouble!
Christine’s friend, Barb, wants to meet with us soon. I only hope we’re not too late before we all pass out from exhaustion!
