Well, I haven’t written here in a while. Life has a funny way of pulling you out of one passion or crisis and shoving you into another. So here I’ll go into detail on what’s been going on so far…

First, Christine and I have been shopping for a house. Of course, now is the point where I give major thanks to her parents for helping us look for a place, as well as giving lots of assistance on financial advice and other matters. As of last weekend, we put our name and earnest deposit on a house that looks like it will fit us nicely. Topping off all it’s other good points, which I’ll say next, it’s a brand-spanking-new home! 1,560 square feet, three bedrooms, two and a half baths, two car garage, all appliances included (!) and the kitchen appliances have a black finish!! :D

Lately, I’ve also been quite the social butterfly too! I heard of a service, through a friend on Twitter, that lets people transmit their webcam signals without any geekwork involved. Well, that site (ustream.com) didn’t quite pan out for me. However, I looked further and found Stickam.com. This is a godsend for this blog’s webcam page, and now I’m kicking myself for buying that Evocam software! With my Stickam page and some code, I can feed my cam’s signal through their service to my blog’s webcam page. Two things about it that blow Evocam out of the water: One, it doesn’t burn up any of my bandwidth (not that I have a huge problem running out 400 GB’s of it!), and Two, the feed has SOUND… something I’ve wanted for my family and friends to see and hear me.

I’m going to have to make a Part II to this entry soon after tomorrow. Sorry, but I have to sleep now! (been spending too much time socializing on Stickam!!) Cheers!

  2. Congradulations buddy!!!!!!!!!!
You’ll love having a house. Not only do you get more room, it becomes an investment in the long run as long as you take care of it. But you probably already knew that. Good luck with the move, you are probably going to have more than I did when I first moved out of my parents place, so that’s going to be a pain. I don’t want to think about the next move. Good luck with the web cam thing, too. That will be fun to watch sometime (soon I hope). Travis

  6. Wow! When’s the parrtay? Seriously you will so love owning your own home, there is nothing quite like it. And as someone has said it is the best financial investment you can make….I remember when I bought my first home and even though I sold it a couple of years after emigrating to Canada I still remember the thrill when I put down my deposit on my OWN place… it was my castle. And when we bought our place together here (a huge condo) it was just as exciting.

So hearty congratulations and enjoy! :)
