I was going to write earlier, but I got hooked into Wikipedia again. I expanded my userpage even more, and some of what I did is going to be added to the “About” page in this blog.

Anyways, as I’m wrapping things up for the night, Christine is reading her email and gasps at an infoletter from the Arizona Humane Society. I just had to read it. Click the link below to see what I saw.

Arizona Humane Society: Cat Suffers Depraved, Cruel Act; Dies As Result

All of you can probably imagine the payback I’d give to the one who tortured that cat. Hint: It would be a little hard to do if the perpetrator is female!

A while back toward the end of 2005, I discovered the joy and aggravation of trying to contribute to Wikipedia. The fruits of my labor went sour, as told by this entry and a coule of others before it. Essentially, I was trying to do something great for an up-and-coming band, Theocracy, that I really admired, and I got shot down for it without so much as a courteous explanation.

Recently, I found out that someone else has made an entry for the band. Yet, despite the fact that a lot of people agree that Theocracy should have it’s own entry, a few moderators on WP do not consider it so. There’s an ongoing battle argument over the “delete-or-not-delete” decision and it looks evenly undecided so far. Nonetheless, imagine my surprise when I found the link to my earlier blog entry I mentioned above. Look for it on the debate cage and see what happened!

I’ve never been linked to in quite that way!

So, now the Wiki bug has bitten me again. I even created a page for my username!

I’ll be back tomorrow…

PS: I WAS going to edit “debate cage” to “debate page”… but I think cage is just as appropriate, judging from the comments on it!

It’s not every day I win an award for a website

… especially one that breaks most of today’s web standards! I keep on waiting for someone to say, “Oh my, Chris… use of frames is just too Web 1.0! And those Javascript rollovers just have to go!” (envision typical flamboyant designer talking with limp-wrist)

Cover of Twilight PrincessAll I can say is… Wow. Just wow. I mean it, folks. A game hasn’t made me feel like this since Zelda’s “Ocarina Of Time”, and that game is a legend in the gaming community.

I will write up a more comprehensive review soon. I just beat the game today and the ending is still buzzing in my brain. Ever since the legendary “Ocarina Of Time”, fans were salivating at the prospect of Nintendo’s GameCube, when it was new and comparatively powerful, getting a Zelda game that was darker and more cinematic. Fans wanted an adult Link going toe-to-toe with a badass-looking Ganondorf. They even got a taste of this treatment at a gaming expo. A year or so later, the fans instead got Zelda’s “Wind Waker”.

“Wind Waker”, while still being an excellent game, was just short of the initial fan expectations. Instead of a realistic adult Link in a realistic world, we got a cel-shaded child Link in a cartoony world. Fans were accepting, but still a little cranky about the choice. Then, when “Twilight Princess” was being developed, Nintendo saw the chance to give the fans what they’ve been begging for.

I’ll definitely give a more complete review very soon. Right now, I have to get ready for bed and dream the dreams of Hyrulean warriors.

Cheers!

A webcam for our stalkersWell, kind of…

If one looks really carefully at the nav bar in this page’s header, they will see a “Webcam” tab. I’ve finally succeeded in tying a feed from my iSight camera to a blog page! Click on it, when I announce a pending or active webcam livecast, and have fun.

I will most likely make entries for special occasions and I will give advance notice of a pending broadcast. I may even make a switch in the sidebar to let everyone know if the webcam is on or not. I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I at least got the connection, firewall and router issues sorted out. I even had a friend in Germany view it to be sure it worked fine (thanks, Christian!). Oh… the switch I was just thinking of; all I have to do is post the notice on Twitter and it will show on the sidebar widget. Wow! It really IS good for something! :D

I’ll see you all around… wait, no… I hope you all will see me around sometime!

Cheers!
