A couple of weeks ago, we got ourselves a new bundle of feathered joy.

Say hello to Bailey!

He is just the sweetest, friendliest bird you’ll meet! After a couple of times hanging with him, I told Christine that we should just have budgies from now on. The cockatiels are ok, but they can be problematic sometimes. Same goes for the eclectus parrot, Thommen, though he’s more of a sweetheart than the ‘tiels.

Anyways, back to what I was doing. Cheers!

In my quest for new and exciting things to do and play with, I have Yet Another New Service (YANSâ„¢) to let you all know about.

Twitter is a web service that does what a status message with an IM program does. It lets other people on the web know what you are doing, in your own words. It’s a nifty thing, especially when you can combine the service wth other things it provides, like a widget for your blog that tells everyone what you’re up to (see the sidebar). You can also update it through AOL IM, your cellphone’s SMS messaging and other computer apps like Twitterrific. Can you imagine what this service could possibly do for online communities that want to expand out into the real world??

I have it set up to update with a change in my iChat status, and my iChat status also changes with an update through Twitterrific. A little buggy so far, but I’m working through it.

Now all I need is some friends to play along with me on this. Any takers?

I did some tweaking to the Photo Gallery, and I’m pleased to announce that it is now Lightbox-integrated as well. I’m not going to do this with the Art Gallery, since the integration effectively nixes all comments. That’s the only downside to the hack.
