… EVERYBODY OR NOBODY! I DON’T CARE!!

If you send it to one person in your address book, you get nothing!
If you send it to fifty people in your address book, you get nothing!!
If you send it to a hundred people in your address book, you get NOTHING!!!

No luck, no gifts, no new friends, no empty promises! Do you get what I’m saying?? NOTHING!!!!!!!

As you can tell, I’m getting a little sick of those bloody chain emails. The stories in them are worth a heart-warmer or chuckle, but aside from that, they’re worthless! I’m sorry if I’m offending anyone here, friends or family, who likes these kind of emails, but I care for emails that are a bit more pragmatic and practical. Who’s with me on this?

I especially hate the parts of these emails that state what happens if you delete it without forwarding it to anyone. Ooooohh, I’m soooooo scared!!

Maybe a Baby Grand Wurlitzer will drop from the sky onto my head, maybe I’ll suffer God’s wrath, maybe I’ll have just plain bad luck… or maybe I’ll continue on with my life and keep on doing the things that matter the most to myself, my wife, my family, my friends, my co-workers and everyone else who’s lives I touch in some way or shape or form.

I’ll drink to that! Cheers!!

In my last post, I made an audioblog to share with all. However, I felt the button that Blogger supplied, though it does the job, was a bit drab and ill fitting in my blog. So I gave in to my “Esoterik Graphics” wishes and created a new one!

The people that work in the graphics industry full-time can say all they want about how limiting Photoshop Elements is… but it got the job done nicely. All I want for my next birthday is the latest version of Photoshop CS for Mac!! :D

–P.S.:– I forgot today to wish everyone a very happy Saint Patrick’s Day. Erin go bragh!! I said this on the ASCS blog today: “I wish you all the luck of the Irish, along with the gift of warm hearts that fuel the fire of your passions. Cheers to all!”

If you’re looking for more Irish blessings, check this entry out. Read it while finishing off a Guinness! Cheers!!

this is an audio post - click to play

… The “Play this audio post” button is nice, but I’m still tempted to make a button of my own and swap it out. You can tell I didn’t really think out what I was going to say because of all the “uh… ummm… uhh…” noises I made during the recording!

Update 3/17/06: I just made that replacement button today! I think it looks better. Don’t you?

I used to be heavy into gymnastics when I was in high school. However, even in my prime, I’d have been hard pressed to do what this guy does! Click the link below…

P.S.: WOW! Blogger went kinda trippy for a little bit. This post was duplicated about 9 times on the blog!

If you’re reading this, and you’re a Mac user, here’s some applications that are making my life easier. I’ll go from first to last aquired:

DragThing

– If you want a versatile alternative to the Apple’s Dock, look no further! I use this app to call up invisible docks for folders, apps, files… all visible with the touch of definable hot-keys. Normally, the default option for these draggable docks is visible, and you can set them up to be windowed, drawers (hidden away on the sides of the screen), or just like I described my setup. One powerful, infinitely customizable app! Yes it’s shareware with a $29 price tag, but once you demo it, you may agree it’s worth much more.

Symphonic

– Not really an app, but a widget, this is one handy little companion for iTunes! I love listening to music while surfing the net or doing other computer work, and I keep it nearby on screen where I can easily click on it. You can type in any song, or part of a song… heck, I’ve even typed in a partial word of a song I was thinking of, and it calls iTunes to play that song, with uncanny accuracy. I’ve got a 1,700 song library, so that’s no small task! Oh, and it’s free!!

Quicksilver

– I just tried it out today, and it’s already in my “Launch at startup” list. This is a keyboard-based launcher that makes mousing around seem too slow. Indeed, once I got the hang of launching and controlling applications with it, soley thru extremely simple keyboard commands, I wanted to do away with the mouse altogether. It’s that good! I have a feeling it’s only free because the creators have had it in perpetual beta status.

Give these little jewels a test drive. You won’t be disappointed!
