Yes, it’s true. Been very busy and, even though it’s a pain sometimes, it’s keeping me occupied and making my life interesting. In addition to the day job, I’m done putting most of the finishing touches on Seedcrackers.com, with the exception of some last minute content. I’ll also be it’s webmaster, helping the ASCS members put articles, photos and announcements on it.
I’ve also been putting together the beginnings of the new “Esoterik Graphics” site banner and interface. Yes, I’m resurrecting EG as a possible business proposition. I’ve even designed and printed business cards and distributed a few at my work. I’m not sure where this is going to lead me, but I’ll just have to take a chance and see what happens.
I’m still going to use HTML, CSS and a text editor to design the site, not a WYSIWYG editor, no matter how tempting it may be. Writer Sebastian, of the blog Void Inside, gave me the suggestion of checking out RapidWeaver, a low cost WYSIWYG website builder. I have to admit I did check it out, and it is nice, but I like the control I have over raw code versus all the advanced capabilities of the sitebuilder. Call me stupid if need be.
Lastly, I’ve also started shopping around for web hosting. So far, I’ve seen a good deal in PowWeb (11 G’s of space with 300 G’s of transferrence a month, a free domain and 650 email boxes for $7.77 a month!). If anyone knows of a better deal, let me know. The free space on Cox’s servers, while being a good deal (free is always good!) is still very limiting for what I ultimately want to do. Plus, if I should ditch Cox for any reason, two sites would be left homeless. I’ve been wrestling with the possibility of splitting the cost with ASCS on this, since it’d be for my benefit and theirs. I’ll keep on pondering this…
Ta-ta for now!
