A New Game…
… can be both enjoyable AND a great time-waster!
I’ve been playing the Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness game for about a couple weeks now, when I have the time to waste. It’s actually quite enjoyable, which I never thought a Pokémon game would be, at least for my tastes. I’m more used to one-on-one fighting or RPG games. Well, this game has RPG elements, but when you need to fight… you have super-powered animals fighting for you! All you do is instruct them on what moves to use against their rivals. This is something pretty new to me. Usually, for most games, fighting strategy is more direct but, in this case, you need to use the right pokémon against whatever other animals you’re facing. Like, a grass pokémon versus a water pokémon, so on and so forth. It makes you really think on adaptive strategies and research before battles. Boy, the things we’re teaching kids nowadays! Trust me on this: some of the “kid’s games” out there can be quite challenging. Not only that, but games like this may teach kids the value of life. I’ve gone through (I think) half of this game, and so far there has been no killing of any kind. Always a good thing, IMHO.
Next game review up: maybe a Star Wars game.
Cheers!
