Ever have one of those days… weeks… hell, a whole month where you just can’t seem to make ends meet? You try and try at your job to fulfill your obligations and you’re not just spinning your wheels, you’re going backwards? Today, I offically entered the long, dark teatime of the soul where everything just seemed hopeless. Let’s just hope that tomorrow gets better… In fact, I guess that if I haven’t hit bottom, I can still soar. If I did indeed strike the lowest layer, then I guess there’s nowhere else to go but up!

I added/switched the friends and family with the Naperville pics and took off the vacation description on the family menu, thus making it just family and friends (not just from vacation). Then I added a pic, that I forgot I had, of the immediate family and I also added a email link to the links section. That should be all for a while, at least until I get my digital camera back from repairs!

In the past 2 days, Thommen just demonstated his growing intelligence ie. his mimicing ability. Yesterday, when we went to cover him, he said “Good night” to us. Then today, Christine went past his cage to cover the cockatiels (he usually get covered before them) and he said “Oh gosh!” as if she forgot about him. As we were covering him, we said good night to him and again, without skipping a beat, he said “Good night”!

There are some bird species that are known for their talking ability, but you still take a gamble with those birds if you get one just because you want a “talker”, as the ability varies between individual birds. Eclectus parrots, such as Thommen, are not widely known for talking ability, but he now knows at least 20 words and phrases (including some we didn’t want him to learn!!).

There’s a pic of him in the Photo Gallery, in the Pet Pictures section. Check it out!

I added “Pet Pictures” to the gallery today. That’s all I have to say today, other than I’ve had a relaxing, lazy day off work. I’ll post here if I add more to the gallery later, but now that’s all the good pics I have without digging thru the archives for more! Also, I replaced my face with my tribal bird logo. (I’m wondering if I should have it copyrighted?)

This blog has an RSS feed, so anyone can bookmark it as a feed and have RSS automatic updates posted to them. Nifty, huh? Stay tuned!

I worked on the Photo Gallery some more last night before bedtime. I must say that, even though it’s not the most professional work out there, it turned out better than I had expected. See the pic below! Keep in mind that this wasn’t made with a WYSIWYG editor… it was done entirely with HTML code I learned on my own. I put black backgrounds (with white lettering) on the pictures to match the menu bars, added the Naperville pictures, and tweaked the main menu bar layout and changed the linking color codes. I’m pretty much done finessing it. Now, all I need is more space on the Cox servers for more pics… I used up all the space on one account just for the pics and thumbnails!

Ironically, this blog got me started on wanting to learn HTML. It supports all the coding in the templates and even in postings such as this one! There’s lots of online tutorials for website creation that offer tips, tricks and knowledge for free. It was just nice to go from casual use of HTML to doing something like this. I feel good about my creation!

SO… use the link above and check it out!
