… since I last wrote. Vacation was great, at least until I got back to work! Isn’t that the way it goes, though? I haven’t wrote because I’ve had to hit the ground running as soon as we got back. Work has been hell for me as far as playing catchup is concerned; been back at work since the 19th and I still haven’t gotten caught up with everything! I already have next to no energy for doing the things I’ve wanted to do.

Some bright spots though! I’ve been working on reformatting the online photo gallery to accomodate my presentation of vacation photos. Should be up by the end of next weekend, but that isn’t a promise! Also, I’ve abandoned the idea of doing internet radio and am instead looking at “podcasting” (recorded downloadable sound files) as another way for me to communicate with thoughts… and maybe music, too! At least, 30 second to one minute snippets of tuneage for all to sample. Tell me what you think… I want to know. Thanks for reading!

Hello, all! Taking some time out from vacation stuff to post our thoughts here. Right now , Christine and I are visiting my aunt and uncle in Waukegan, Il. So far, we’ve spent time around Chicago and it’s suburbs… visiting friends and family… and availing ourselves to the food that the Chicago area is legendary for. When we come back home to AZ next week, and as soon as I can find some time, I’ll do some tweaking to the online photo gallery and post pictures of the vacation highlights. The bad thing in this is that my digital camera decided to crap out before taking a single picture this week, so I had to resort to buying a 2-pack disposable camera pack (technology has spoiled me rotten!). Thank goodness for home scanning technology!

Until next week… Cheers!!

Well, 2 days, 18 hours, 36 minutes ’till vacation! Will be getting everything ready here in the next couple of days to fly back to Chicago. There, we will be surprising friends and family (some of them don’t know we’re coming) and seeing the sights and eating the food that we’ve missed. Good thing we’re missing the snowy season!

I purchased Apple’s vaunted new operating system yesterday… and spent all night backing up data, installing the system, tweaking preferences, futzing around and trying to learn all I can about it. Too much to dive into all at once! So far, though, it’s a smooth and stable environment. The only bad thing about this is that I get to re-install ALL the upgrades (iLife ‘05, PDA software, MIDI drivers… the works)! I love Dashboard… The widgets are very helpful, and Christine was salivating over the translator widget, which she said did a good job of english-to-german translating. I even downloaded a widget for baseball scores, since we have to keep up with her White Sox and my Cubbies. The verdict is still out on Spotlight. Long term use will tell if it’s really as good as Apple says it is, but my first few searches were good. I have to try the “smart folder” feature; basically, it’s saved searches that update with whatever you add in the hard drive, so long as it matches criteria.

Speaking of updates and iLife, I also installed GarageBand Jam Packs vol 1. Tons of new instruments, effects and sounds to choose from…. I don’t know where to start!

One more thing… there’s a site I just threw myself into recently called iComposition.com, hence the button I put on this page’s sidebar. Click on it. You’ll see what I mean!

More news to come… Stay tuned!

It was my Dad’s birthday June 2nd! I called him of course, and sent him a card before that day (hope it got to him on time!). Alas, what one does for another, so he shall do for all… add the occasion to the blog!
