Well, I finally took Pepper to see the vet today for a first and annual checkup. Everything went smooth, and we even got to see how to properly trim a rabbit’s nails. Needless to say, we were calling Pepper a “he” for some time. Hey, the equipment that was there kinda looked masculine for a rabbit! The books say that in young bunnies it’s kinda hard to tell, so one may need to get a vet to determine the sex. It turned out Pepper is a girl bunny… and I still love her just the same!

Hi Chris!
Yes it is hard to tell. We were told when we bought Petunia that she was a girl, AND the VET told us she was a girl. Then, after a few months and the rabbit grew, I noticed some changes…let’s just say that I took this rabbit back to the same vet, and yes, the vet confirmed that Petunia was indeed a “he.” Did you get the Rabbits for Dummies book? It is good, as is the House Rabbit society website.
