Sunday, Christine and I went with her parents to see the White Sox play a spring training game against the Seattle Mariners. Before the game, a USAF skydiving squad did some impressive precision jumps onto the Peoria Sports Complex field. Of course I took some pics, but the best one I had taken is this:

Too bad the camera didn’t have a better zoom, but I think it’s still a winner. The parachutists all came down one by one, with the second-to-last one bearing the flag and the last man waving the POW/MIA flag (I didn’t get a good pic of that one). As usual, click on the picture to enlarge it!

Last week I said that my work week went something like this:

Well, this week I had to try and condense 5 days of work into 3 days! Kinda felt like this:

Any questions?

On a lighter note, Pepper is doing well in his new home with us. I will be taking him to the vet this week. Wish us luck! Oh, and the birds are doing great, too!

Here’s another picture of Pepper, the newest addition to the family. As usual, click on the pic to see full-size:

Also, in answer to my mom’s question in the comments in the previous post, the birds are at the least apprehensive about him. Thommen, our Eclectus parrot and biggest bird, doesn’t know what to make of the bunny. Alex, the cockatiel, is downright scared of him; hissing at Pepper and trying to be threatening! Very funny to watch the reactions, I have to admit!

Well, I had a relaxing day today. Didn’t get to do much, since I really needed to recuperate from going to Tuscon on Monday (a 15 hour work day), and working a regular day Tuesday. Slept ’till about 11, and that’s a bummer since I wanted to do more than laze around!

Other news, we settled on a name for our new bunny-friend… Pepper! So far he’s been a handful; he’s been running around the cage, the couch, the bed… just a real energetic little fuzzball. He seems to just love being with us, which is awesome because I’m always afraid of a pet just not caring whether or not you’re there as long as the food and water are present.

I may post pictures later. Right now, the kitchen (and food) awaits. Cheers!

I’ve always tossed the thought around about getting another critter… I had a Guinea Pig named Oreo a while back when we were still living in the Chicago suburbs. Back then, we didn’t have six birds to feed, either. Oreo died while we were on vacation and it took me a while to think about getting another pet even remotely rodent-like. Well, today we were at a bird club meeting (Arizona Seed Crackers Assoc.), and they usually have raffle drawings. Among all the toys, food and trinkets that they usually have as prizes, they will also have a bird to give away. Every single month we went, another bird was the prize. We never won in the raffle, or if we did then someone got to the bird first, which was fine by me; we didn’t need any more birds. This time it was different… and we just happened to win:

A cute-as-a-button miniature bunny! (click on the picture) Not bad for $5 worth of raffle tickets. I’ve been thinking of getting a bunny or another Guinea Pig for quite some time. This was just a stroke of pure luck! As I went up to claim a prize (they let you pick of any prize on the table), I did last minute thinking on taking it. My end thought was that I’d kick myself hard if I passed this opportunity up. Well, we’ll see how this little venture goes; we haven’t even settled on a name yet! As usual, I’ll keep posting!
